Why an aspirin mask, what’s in it for me …or my skin
Aspirin contains a very effective type of salicylic acid; this is the kind that gives the deep down cleansing your skin needs to get or stay blemish free. In some people it even helped to quickly heal existing blemishes and kept them from coming back
On top of that it is also a great exfoliator, sloughing off dead skin cells and so preventing your pores from getting clogged. This is what makes your skin feel silky soft and smooth afterward
Finally, all this together with its anti-inflammatory properties make aspirin a unique and world-class ingredient in your acne treatment regime

Some useful tips
Before applying any facial mask clean your face and neck with fresh water. Take off all cosmetics, creams, lotions, in short: everything. Use a non abrasive, non aggressive soap if necessary. When finished, pat your skin dry
Even better is to take a hot shower or a steam bath to clean and open up your pores. For some useful steam bath suggestions & tips check our steam bath page
When you have applied the aspirin face mask of choice make sure you take your time to lie down, place a towel under your head and neck. Put 2 cucumber slices on your eyes; or use 2 used and cooled down chamomile teabags (our personal favorite!) or 2 cotton pads soaked in rose or lavender water
But most important:
Think positive, happy thoughts and relax... this is actually half of the secret of these recipes!
