They are one of the most nourishing fruits available because they contain large quantities of magnesium, potassium, zinc, iodine, iron and vitamins A, B (folic acid), E, and F and much more…Guess what, that's all good stuff especially for your skin

Because of these qualities it is often used to battle dry skin and wrinkles. Banana facials moisturize and soothe your skin

Some useful tips

Before applying any facial mask clean your face and neck with fresh water. Take off all cosmetics, creams, lotions, in short: everything. Use a non abrasive, non aggressive soap if necessary. When finished, pat your skin dry

Even better is to take a hot shower or a steam bath to clean and open up your pores. For some useful steam bath suggestions & tips check our steam bath page

When you have applied the banana facial of choice make sure you take your time to lie down, place a towel under your head and neck. Put 2 cucumber slices on your eyes; or use 2 used and cooled down chamomile teabags (our personal favorite!) or 2 cotton pads soaked in rose or lavender water

But most important:

Think positive, happy thoughts and relax...
this is actually half of the secret of these recipes!

Warning: A lot of fruits contain citric acid. Lemon, lime and orange (juice) in specific. These can be useful in skin care; however in some people they can cause acid burns. When you use them in a facial mask or any skin treatment always be careful with how much you use for your particular skin or skin type. Also if you have sensitive skin be extra aware

Always be careful with the ingredients you use. And if you're not sure about the whole mask or a specific ingredient do a patch test on a small part of skin i.e. behind your ear and wait 20 minutes to see how your body reacts. Talk to an aesthetician or dermatologist if you think your skin is especially sensitive
