Why a homemade sugar scrub
what are the benefits of sugar for my skin?

Sugar is actually a natural glycolic acid which is very often used to slough off dead skin cells to stimulate the growth of new cells

Sugar cane even has known natural anti-aging properties, so if you’re using a sugar scrub in an anti aging treatment, try cane sugar

In short a homemade sugar scrub will leave your skin looking and feeling soft, radiant, rejuvenated, silky smooth…well younger actually

But most important, all this with 1 simple sweet natural ingredient; no unnatural or harmful chemicals, no vague ingredients, no designer price tags…you are in control

Some useful tips

Before applying a sugar scrub clean your skin with lukewarm to warm water or a warm, damp washcloth

Even better is to take a hot shower or a steam bath to clean and open up your pores. For some useful steam bath tips follow the link

Some words of Caution

A lot of fruits contain citric acid. Lemon, lime and orange (juice) in specific. When you use them in a skin treatment always be careful with how much you use. Too much can cause acid burns. Also if you have sensitive skin be extra aware with these ingredients

Same goes for all essential oils, this is really powerful stuff; be very careful what and how much you use

Because you can never be too careful when it comes to your skin, always do a patch test on a small piece of skin (e.g. behind the ear) to see how your skin reacts to separate ingredients
