…or my skin?

Mint has a cleansing, soothing and cooling effect that makes it perfectly suitable for most skin types. After you have used a mint face mask you'll notice that your skin has become softer, suppler and clearer since it is known to clear blemishes

It is very helpful in removing blackheads, pimples and acne. Both men and women across the world have discovered the cleansing power of a Mint Face mask

Some useful tips

Before applying any facial mask clean your face and neck with fresh water. Take off all cosmetics, creams, lotions, in short: everything. Use a non abrasive, non aggressive soap if necessary. When finished, pat your skin dry

Even better is to take a hot shower or a steam bath to clean and open up your pores. For some useful steam bath suggestions & tips check our steam bath page

When you have applied the mint face mask of choice make sure you take your time to lie down, place a towel under your head and neck. Put 2 cucumber slices on your eyes; or use 2 used and cooled down chamomile teabags (our personal favorite!) or 2 cotton pads soaked in rose or lavender water

But most important:

Think positive, happy thoughts and relax...
this is actually half of the secret of these recipes!

Mint Face Pack recipes

Pamper yourself by making and using these refreshing facial masks. Shift your mind to the good things in life, put on a smile and Enjoy!

Natural face masks

Basic Mint face pack
(For all skin types)

As a general rule, cucumber and mint are natural refresheners. So this mint face pack will definitely stimulate and jump-start your skin

What do you need:

  • 1/2 cup Cucumber solid parts (without juice)
  • 1/4 cup of finely chopped fresh Mint leaves
  • fresh Water

How to do it:

Wash the cucumber and cut it into pieces. Put these in a food processor and really mash them. Pour it through a clean piece of cloth (called straining) and throw the juice away, just keep the solid parts. You need 1/2 cup of this

Put these cucumber solids together with a bit of fresh water in a pan and warm it up over a slow fire (you could also use your microwave of course…about 4 minutes.) Then add the chopped mint leaves, stir and continue to heat it (if you use a microwave, about 5 minutes on medium strength)

Take it off the heat source and let the cucumber mint mix cool down until it is cool enough to apply

Spread this gently and equally with your fingertips on your clean face and neck: keep the eye area clear

Now lie down, relax and leave the mask on for 15 minutes

Then wash it off with cold water; pat your skin dry with a clean towel

Home made facial masks

Clay, Mint face pack
(For oily skin)

A clay mint mask especially for oily skin since most clay masks absorb excess oil from your skin

What do you need:

  • 2 tablespoons Clay powder, choose your favorite
  • 1 tablespoon of finely chopped fresh Mint leaves
  • fresh Water

How to do it:

Mix your clay powder with water and the mint until you have a nice smooth paste that will stay on your face without running off

Spread this gently and equally with your fingertips on your clean face and neck: keep the eye area clear

Now lie down, relax and leave the mask to dry for about 15-20 minutes

Then wash it off with a warm wet wash cloth and warm water, end with a splash of cold; pat your skin dry with a clean towel. Finally apply a moisturizer, this way you "seal" your skin to keep the water inside

Natural face masks

Fuller's Earth, Yogurt, Mint face pack
(For oily skin)

A mint face pack made with Fuller’s earth makes one super cleansing mask. It improves circulation, absorbs dead skin cells and dries up any excess oil

We don't recommend using it on dry skin but it is excellent for oily skin

What do you need:

  • 1 tablespoon Fuller's Earth (Multani Mitti)
  • 1 tablespoon Plain unflavored Yogurt, with active cultures
  • 1 teaspoon Mint powder

How to do it:

Soak the mint leaves and the Fuller's earth in the yogurt for about 30 minutes. Then mix them thoroughly until you have a nice smooth paste that will stay on your face without it running off

Spread this gently and equally with your fingertips on your clean face and neck: keep the eye area clear

Now lie down, relax and leave the mask to dry, this will take 15-20 minutes

Then wash it off with lukewarm water and end with a splash of cold; pat your skin dry with a clean towel

Natural face masks

Milk powder, Cucumber, Yogurt, Mint face pack
(For all skin types)

What do you need:

  • 1/2 Cucumber
  • 1 tablespoon instant non-fat Milk powder
  • 1 teaspoon Plain unflavored Yogurt, with active cultures
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh Mint leaves

How to do it:

Wash the cucumber and cut it in pieces. Put them together with the dry milk, yogurt and mint leaves in a food processor and mix until you have a nice smooth substance

Spread this gently and equally with your fingertips or with a cotton ball on your clean face and neck: keep the eye area clear

Now lie down, relax and leave the mask on for 15-20 minutes

Then wash it off with a warm wet wash cloth and warm water, end with a splash of cold; pat your skin dry with a clean towel. Finally apply a moisturizer, this way you "seal" your skin to keep the water inside

Natural face masks

Egg white, Cucumber, Lemon, Apple, Mint face pack
(For oily skin)

Again a fresh mint face pack for oily skin, but this one also exfoliates and tones your skin What do you need:

  • 1/2 cucumber
  • 1 egg white
  • 1/2 teaspoon of lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon of apple juice
  • 1 tablespoon of finely chopped fresh Mint leaves

How to do it:

Put the cucumber, egg white, lemon juice, apple juice and mint leaves in a food processor and mix and mash it until you have a nice smooth substance

Spread this gently and equally with your fingertips on your clean face and neck: keep the eye area clear

Now lie down, relax and leave the mask on for 30 minutes

Then wash it off with a warm wet wash cloth and warm water, end with a splash of cold; pat your skin dry with a clean towel. Finally apply a moisturizer, this way you "seal" your skin to keep the water inside

Natural face masks

Chamomile, Honey, Egg, Mint face pack
(For all skin types)

A very fresh mint face pack that will clean and shrink your pores

What do you need:

  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tablespoon organic Honey
  • 1 teaspoon crushed dry Chamomile flowers
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh Mint leaves

How to do it:

Warm up the honey until it becomes liquid (not too hot!) by putting it in a small glass or metal bowl which is immersed in hot water. Break the egg and beat it just a bit, not too much. Gently mix in the crushed dry chamomile flowers, liquid honey and fresh mint leaves. Mix until you have a smooth, thick and sticky paste

Spread the paste gently and equally with a facial mask brush or spatula on your clean face and neck; keep the eye area clear

Now lie down, relax and leave the mask to dry for 15 minutes until it becomes crusty and your face begins to feel stiff

Then wash it off with a soft washcloth and lukewarm water; pat your skin dry with a clean towel

A small word of caution: before you apply any mask, we recommend you do a patch test on a small piece of skin to test your sensitivity to it
