Strawberry Facial Mask

A homemade strawberry facial mask is a frequently returning feature in the skin care regime of people with oily skin and they who have an ongoing battle with acne

Strawberries are crammed with vitamins and contain salicylic acid which both are very useful to treat and pamper your skin

And everyone, and that includes you, can enjoy a relaxing and satisfying natural spa experience right there in your own home with these strawberry facial masks. It's all made clear; these face mask recipes are as simple as ABC, affordable or downright cheap and you probably have the ingredients already somewhere in your kitchen cabinets

We have the recipe you bring the energy
…and the ingredients, a food processor or mixing bowl of course

Why a strawberry facial mask, what’s in it for me
…or my skin?

These tasty red berries cleanse, exfoliate and refresh your skin because the salicylic acid gets rid of your dead skin cells, it tightens your pores and brightens up your face making it look shinier. They refresh, remove impurities, reduce swelling and redness and slightly whiten your skin

Because of the cleansing and exfoliating capabilities a strawberry facial mask is a very looked after recipe by people who have oily or acne prone skin

Some useful tips

Before applying any facial mask clean your face and neck with fresh water. Take off all cosmetics, creams, lotions, in short: everything. Use a non abrasive, non aggressive soap if necessary. When finished, pat your skin dry

Even better is to take a hot shower or a steam bath to clean and open up your pores. For some useful steam bath suggestions & tips check our steam bath page

When you have applied the strawberry mask of choice make sure you take your time to lie down, place a towel under your head and neck. Put 2 cucumber slices on your eyes; or use 2 used and cooled down chamomile teabags (our personal favorite!) or 2 cotton pads soaked in rose or lavender water

But most important:

Think positive, happy thoughts and relax...
this is actually half of the secret of these recipes!
